Growing up in the Philippines, we didn’t have grapefruit, but we did have “suha,” also known as pomelo. This fruit has a thick skin and it takes a while to peel it, but what you find inside is flesh that is sweet, tangy, and tart. This huge citrus fruit, rich in vitamin c and potassium, is a native of Malaysia and is regarded as the ancestor of the grapefruit.
